About the Book
Andrew is on a mission! He heard about something called the Honor Flight at school. That’s a program that honors World War II veterans with a trip to Washington, D.C. On that tour, they get to see the memorials built for them. Problem is – Andrew’s great-grandpa doesn’t want to go. He doesn’t want to even talk about how he helped save the world. Andrew has a plan. Will learning how to give a superduper salute help change Grandpa’s mind and help him get the hero’s welcome he deserves?
Inspired by a true story, join us as we celebrate our veterans with Saluting Grandpa.

What is Honor Flight?
The mission of the Honor Flight Network is to fly America’s veterans to Washington, D.C., to visit the memorials dedicated to honor their sacrifices. Top priority is given to America’s most senior veterans – survivors of WWII and any veterans with a terminal illness who wish to visit their memorial.
